Indian luxury fashion label Sabyasachi is preparing to expand into footwear, fragrances and small leather goods as it broadens its portfolio beyond couture and jewellery.
Founder and Creative Director Sabyasachi Mukherjee said the brand plans to introduce its first fragrance within the next 18 months, while its small leather goods business, including products such as wallets, is already being developed. Women’s and men’s footwear are expected to follow the fragrance launch.
The expansion is part of Sabyasachi’s long-term ambition to build what Mukherjee describes as India’s first global luxury lifestyle brand. The company recorded revenue of ₹650 crore in FY2026, with jewellery contributing around 33% of turnover, while its accessories business is expected to cross ₹100 crore this year.
Small leather goods are expected to become an important growth area, particularly in the gifting segment. The brand is also expanding its eyewear business and developing an international ready-to-wear portfolio.
Mukherjee said the new categories would allow consumers to engage with the Sabyasachi brand more frequently while maintaining its focus on quality, craftsmanship and its distinct Indian identity.
The company has also moved into new manufacturing facilities in Kolkata, with investments focused on increasing capacity, strengthening product development and supporting its artisan ecosystem. Sabyasachi currently operates retail outlets in Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and New York.
