Pidilite Industries Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with Hwaseung Chemicals to expand its adhesive market presence across India, according to Atulya Das, Chief of Sales and Field Marketing for the Footwear Division at Pidilite Industries. Under this new collaboration with Hwaseung Chemicals, a prominent South Korean enterprise known for serving the global sports shoe sector, Pidilite Industries Limited will represent the South Korean firm as its strategic partner within the Indian market.
Speaking on the sidelines of the India International Footwear Fair 2026, where Pidilite Industries participated as an exhibitor, Das shared that the company’s product reach spans across all major footwear segments. These include open footwear, leather items, non-leather footwear, and performance sports shoes. To further bolster its capabilities in clean and eco-friendly bonding, Pidilite also recently acquired an American manufacturer specialising in water-based adhesives, which complements its existing portfolio of eco-friendly primers, hot-melt formulations, and low-VOC solutions.
Outlining the key goals behind participating in IIFF 2026, Das explained that the exhibition provided an ideal platform to increase global brand awareness for Pidilite, generate new business leads, and formally introduce the strategic collaboration between Hwaseung Chemicals and Pidilite to the wider industry.
Reflecting on the broader commercial environment, Das acknowledged a number of ongoing headwinds facing manufacturers. He pointed out that geopolitical unrest in the Middle East has had a noticeable impact on wider economic conditions, creating ripple effects across the footwear and manufacturing sectors.
Despite these difficult economic circumstances, Das underlined that Pidilite remains steadily focused on finding practical ways to sustain operations and maintain market momentum. He noted that the footwear industry as a whole must place greater focus on sustainable practices while adopting strategic measures to manage external pressures and ensure long-term operational resilience.
